Los Angeles Dodgers vs Houston Astros
Winner: Los Angeles Dodgers
This series is one of the most exciting ones in recent years. It features everything from arguably the best pitcher in baseball, Clayton Kershaw, and an MVP candidate in Jose Altuve. Both rosters are full of dynamic rising stars like Carlos Correa and Cody Bellinger. Both teams have great starting pitching and bullpens. On the other hand each team features powerful lineups so fans will be curious to see if these games will be high or low scoring.
I ultimately have the Dodgers winning this series due to the fact that they have breezed through this post season. They have already swept the Diamondbacks in a best of five series and nearly swept the reigning World Series champions Chicago Cubs 4-1 in the NLCS. Houston definitely has a talented team but I do not see them beating the Dodgers. The Dodgers starting rotation is too dominant for the Astros to get passed, especially when their top hitters were relatively quiet during the ALCS.
Houston barely squeaked by the Yankees in the ALCS and went to a win or go home Game 7. Prior to the playoff the Yankees were considered to be in a rebuilding year, so the Astros have a whole different animal on their hands now. I predict that this series will be filled of many exciting moments but finished in six games.
